Accounting Clerk

Location: Mt. Washington Alpine Resort, 1 Strathcona Parkway, Mt. Washington, BC, Canada

Employment Type: Permanent, Part Time (16 hours/week)

Reports To: Accounting Manager

NOC: 1431


Your Opportunity:

Mt. Washington Alpine Resort is about adventure. As a year-round recreation destination located on beautiful Vancouver Island, we are proud to provide a wide array of recreation, retail, dining, and utility services to our guests and neighbours.

Our finance team is growing! We’re looking for an Accounting Clerk with bookkeeping experience and/or accounting knowledge. The clerk will calculate, prepare, and process bills, invoices, accounts payable and receivable, budgets, and other financial records.

  • Prepare various accounting reconciliations.
  • Create and distribute invoices, collect accounts, respond to customer inquiries, maintain good customer relations, and solve problems.
  • Record billing details in database and liaise with vendors.
  • Code, total, batch, enter, verify, and reconcile transactions.
  • Compile budget data and documents.
  • Prepare financial statements, estimates, and reports.
  • Perform related clerical duties, such as word processing, maintaining filing and record systems, faxing and photocopying.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Experience & Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proficient with data entry, especially Microsoft Excel.
  • Demonstrated initiative.
  • A positive and professional manner.
  • Comfort in an almost paperless environment.
  • Physically able to bend, kneel, twist, walk, lift and carry items of moderate weight, and sit for long periods of time.

We also consider bookkeeping experience and successfully completed post-secondary accounting courses as assets.
