Events Coordinator

Location: Mt. Washington Alpine Resort, 1 Strathcona Parkway, Mt. Washington, BC

Employment Type: Seasonal, hourly

Salary: $17/hour

As the Events Coordinator, you are an idea generator who loves to have fun! You will lead multiple projects and supervise these events in-person. Your confident and positive attitude, your strong organization and problem-solving capabilities, and your attention to detail will ensure your success in this role.

  • Maintain and promote the resort’s calendar of events, working with the Marketing team to update the website event pages, social media, and other channels.
  • Work with the Marketing team to execute all resort events and activations, including planning, developing, and implementing new event ideas, and manage events in person, on site.
  • Assist to develop event materials including registration forms, posters, brochures, prizing, swag, etc.
  • Effectively communicate all event logistics with internal departments
  • Organize a team of volunteers and assign duties, ensuring a seamless event experience for all.
  • Liaise with sponsors and industry partners; maintain productive relationships and leverage cooperative marketing efforts; fulfill contracted sponsorship deliverables.
  • Measure and report on success of events, sponsorship activities, and identify areas to improve for future events.
  • Complete other administrative and marketing duties as assigned.

Requirements & Skills:

  • Experience managing and promoting both family-oriented and age 19+ events.
  • Experience with online project management tools and content management systems.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to superb guest service.
  • Related university/college accreditation, or equivalent job experience.
  • Passion for winter sports and getting out on the slopes.
  • Able to work flexible hours including holidays, evenings, and weekends, and comfortable being outdoors for extended periods in all types of weather.
  • Licensed driver with your own vehicle.
  • Serving-It-Right certification.
  • Experience in the ski/tourism industry is an asset.
