JOB DESCRIPTION

Nordic XC Ski Instructor

Location: Mt. Washington Alpine Resort (Raven Lodge), 1 Strathcona Parkway, Mt. Washington, BC

Employment Type: Seasonal, Part-Time/ Full-Time

Reports To: Nordic Manager

Your Opportunity:

Are you a skilled and good-natured Nordic ski instructor? Join our team! We have an opening on weekends to teach our Skate Skiing and Free Glide programs. Demonstrate your passion for snow sports, and provide exceptional service to our guests.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach Cross-Country ski lessons to children and adults as well as group lessons.
  • Guide snowshoe tours.
  • Attend department meetings each workday.
  • Set up outdoor terrain signage.
  • Shovel stairs and entryways and update the shoveling log.
  • Develop a comprehensive knowledge of in-house departments and products.
  • Assist in other department operations such as Rentals, Sales and Events when required.
  • Keep the staff room clean and tidy.
  • Act as an ambassador for Mount Washington and the Nordic ski industry.
  • Switch location as instructed top manage guest volume and weather-related needs.
  • Other duties as instructed.

Required Experience & Qualifications:

  • Accomplished cross-country skier, holding a minimum of a level 1 CANSI or NCCP Community Coaching certification.
  • Strong guest service skills.
  • Team player and able to work without supervision.
  • Able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to up-sell products is a huge asset. 
  • Physically able to grasp, stand, lift, perform repetitive motions, listen, and see.
  • Be able to work outside everyday, in all weather conditions.
  • Schedule flexibility a definite asset.
  • First aid certification is an asset.
